Agimat FX download: where to get it, and why the copies are not ours

Agimat FX is being rebuilt for MetaTrader 5 and is not yet released. Everything currently offered as an “Agimat FX download” is an unlicensed copy of a discontinued version — here is what that actually means for you.

That answer is unsatisfying, so this page explains what is actually circulating under the Agimat name, why I would not install any of it, and how to tell an official release from a copy when the new one does arrive.

What is circulating

Agimat FX was sold between 2016 and 2024 in several versions — Agimat FX Pro, Agimat FX 2018, Agimat FX 2020, Agimat FX iQ and Agimat FX Ultra. Those products are discontinued. I stopped selling them because the system needed rebuilding, not because I handed distribution to anyone else.

What you will find today, if you search, falls into three groups:

• Download sites offering old versions as a free .ex4 or .ex5 file.
• “Group buy” pages selling access to a shared library of commercial trading software.
• Marketplace listings offering Agimat FX Ultra and similar for a few dollars.

None of these are licensed, none are connected to me, and none of them can support what they sell. They are unlicensed copies of discontinued software.

Four reasons not to install one

1. You cannot see what is in the file

An .ex4 or .ex5 is a compiled binary. You cannot read it, and you cannot diff it against anything. You are being asked to run unverified code inside the terminal where your trading account is logged in.

Two things make that worse than it sounds. If you tick Allow DLL imports — and plenty of installation guides tell people to tick it without explaining why — compiled code can reach the operating system beyond MetaTrader. And packages distributed as “Agimat” frequently contain more than an indicator: an expert advisor bundled in the same folder can place trades on its own, which an indicator cannot.

2. It will not be maintained

Brokers rename symbols. MetaTrader ships new builds. An abandoned copy of a 2020 indicator is frozen at the moment it was cracked, and there is no one to fix it when something changes underneath it.

3. There is no support behind it

When it does not load, when the arrows do not appear, when it behaves differently on your broker's feed than in the screenshots — nobody is answering. The sites selling these do not have the source, do not know how the system works, and cannot help you.

4. It is an outdated version anyway

This is the part people miss. The reason Agimat went quiet is that I decided the old versions were no longer good enough and pulled them. So even a perfect, uncracked copy of Agimat FX 2020 is a copy of something its own author retired. You would be pirating a product that has already been superseded by the thing you actually want.

How to tell an official release

When the new build is ready, this is how it will work — and anything that does not match is not mine:

• It will be released from agimatfx.com. There is no second official channel, no reseller, no marketplace listing.
• It will not be free, and it will not be seven dollars.
• There will be no “group buy”, no bundle deal and no affiliate download mirror.
• If you are unsure whether something is genuine, email hello@agimatfx.com and ask me before you install it.

What is actually coming

A ground-up rebuild for MetaTrader 5. New engine, still non-repaint — the arrow prints at the close of the bar and stays where it printed. It is in live testing now, traded daily by me before anyone else is asked to trust it.

There is no release date, and I am not going to invent one. There is no countdown on this site for the same reason.

If you already installed a copy

Not a catastrophe, but worth tidying up:

1. Remove the indicator and any expert advisor that came with it from your MQL4/Indicators, MQL5/Indicators and Experts folders, then restart the terminal.
2. Run a malware scan on the machine, particularly if you enabled DLL imports.
3. If you typed an account number, password or licence key into anything that came with the download, change those credentials. Change your MetaTrader investor and master passwords through your broker.
4. Check your account history for trades you did not place.
